design inspiration: Contemporary Villa in Phuket

Spotted on Sotheby’s Phuket, this beautiful four bedroom, six bath contemporary villa is located in Ao Po, Phuket, Thailand.
With 6,026 square feet of indoor space and nearly 4,200 square feet of terasse space, this house sit on a 0.8 acre lot offers stunning views overlooking the Phang Nga Bay.

Broker’s description:
“This unique and innovative four bedroom villa sits on a hillside, 65 metres above sea level, with stunning 270 degree views of Phang Nga Bay and the rainforest covered mountain of Phuket’s National Park. The villa sits on a 3,200 sqm land plot and has 560 sqm of covered living space and 950 sqm of built up area with a 18m x 4m lap pool. Fair faced or form faced concrete has been used extensively for wall and ceiling surfaces both internally and externally providing a rustic, relaxed, yet refined ambience. The inherent textures and contrast of the concrete surfaces come alive at night when illuminated. This tropical contemporary villa was designed with sustainability in mind, maximising natural light and ventilation and featuring passive cooling, recycled timber, rain water harvesting, efficient air conditioning (when necessary) and solar hot water.
Three of the four bedrooms contain open-air ensuite bathrooms and large terraces with incredible sea and rainforest views. The master suite is located on the pool level and opens on to the large pool deck and garden area. Apart from the gorgeous views, the villa’s location provides for some unbelievable weather watching. Dramatic storms can be seen forming in Phang Nga Bay long before they arrive at the villa and often clouds and mist can be seen moving through the bay, the valley below and through the rainforest. Simply amazing.”
